A Test Story From the Porch
A fake post for checking the design — delete me whenever.
Dear Carter and Malcolm,
This is a fake story so we can see the page the way a reader would. The first letter of this paragraph should be an illuminated drop cap, and the rest of the text should span a comfortable single-column measure with room to breathe.
One paragraph is never enough to judge a reading page, so here is another. Good body typography disappears — you stop noticing the letterforms and just hear the voice. If any line here feels cramped or too wide, that is worth fixing before a real story ships.
A section heading
Headings should feel like part of the letter, not blog chrome. Below this paragraph sits an aside, which reads like a quieter thought in the margin.
One line worth remembering, set apart from the rest.
The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.
That horizontal rule above should render as a quiet asterism, not a bare line. And after the sign-off below, the rocking chair should be waiting in the bottom corner, on its floor line, rocking just barely.
